HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS: Bring Anti-Bullying Message To Statehouse

Governor Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Reynolds hosted a special visitor on Monday. Hammer Harrison of the Harlem Globetrotters was at the statehouse as the Governor signed the proclamation naming April 7, Harlem Globetrotter Day in Iowa.

The group is being recognized for their work to promote an anti-bullying message during performances.

Both Branstad and Reynold’s were presented with custom made Globetrotter jerseys and as you can see in the picture Lt. Gov. Reynold’s tweeted Monday afternoon she even got to try out some ball handling tricks.

Students at Christ the King Elementary School in Des Moines will get to see the anti-bullying program in action Tuesday when the Globetrotters visit their school.
