Des Moines Area Regional Transit is expanding services in the metro and they hope a free trial will get more riders to try taking the bus to their destination.

For the month of April DART riders can take buses on route 60 for free.

DART calls the new route the heart of the transit network, it connects University Avenue and Ingersoll Avenue between 42nd street and Downtown Des Moines.

On weekdays the buses will depart from stops along the way every 20 to 30 minutes between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.
