The owner of a Des Moines machine shop says a truck found submerged in Gray’s Lake Friday morning was stolen from his business.

Accurate Hydraulics and Machine at 1536 Ohio Street was broken into overnight and several things were taken, including the flatbed truck found in Gray’s Lake. The owner says his shop was also set on fire.

Des Moines police confirm the truck was taken from the parking lot of the business. Crews pulled it from the water and found no one inside.

Police believe the two incidents are linked, the damage to the shop was likely done by a disgruntled customer. A note was written on the wall saying, "Fix my s*** right b****"
