JOBLESS RATE: March Numbers Drop

Iowa’s unemployment rate is down slightly but the number of people working also declined.

Iowa Workforce Development says the unemployment rate for March dropped to 4.9-percent in March from 5-percent in February.

The agency reports the number of people working in non-farm jobs also dropped by 5,500 workers.

The national unemployment rate also dropped a point in March, to 7.6-percent.
