BANK ROBBED: East Side Bank Hit

Des Moines police are searching for a man who robbed an east side bank Tuesday morning.

Police say the call came in at 9:11 a.m. from the Community State Bank at 3540 East 33rd Street. A man entered the bank and demanded money, claiming he had a gun. A weapon was not shown.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his mid to late 20s. He was about five-foot-ten and 200 to 220 pounds. The suspect was wearing a blue face covering, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.

The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. He headed north on foot.
