Iowans are helping make wishes coming true, one frequent flyer mile at a time.

The Make-A-Wish organization began their Wishes in Flight program Monday. It asks travelers to donate their frequent flyer miles in order to help the organization grant wishes for children with life threatening medical conditions.

The Iowa chapter hopes to collect 10-million miles this year.

That would pay for 200 airline tickets and fund about 40 wishes for Iowa kids.

Make-A-Wish Iowa grants a wish every other day.
