Polk County Deputies were already at a Des Moines strip joint directing traffic when someone opened fire in the parking lot over the weekend, killing one person and injuring another.

"What I don't understand at the point is it happened so quickly I don't know how it happened like that." Says Big Earl's security director Josh Jackson,  "We had police officers at the front of our lot blocking it off...plus I had a security, extra security company outside."

The first round of shots rang out just before 3:30 Sunday morning as a crowd of about 400 partied in the parking lot of Big Earl’s Goldmine.  Ten minutes later more shots were fired..hitting 23-year old Reginald Bryan Junior of Florida.  He later died.

Investigators are reviewing security video from the club, and are asking anyone who may have seen what happened to call the Polk County Sheriff’s Department.
