Everything was ready to go for the first Farmers Market in Valley Junction on Thursday, and then Mother Nature decided to dump snow across the state.

A little rain, snow and cold didn’t stop the farmers market; it just shrank it a little.

Only about 1/3 of the vendors decided to participate, but those who did show up said they wouldn’t miss it.

Organizers say as far as they know, it has never snowed during a market.
