RAISING MONEY: Remembering Elizabeth Collins
Students at an Evansdale elementary school are raising money for a special memorial for a murdered friend.
Elizabeth Collins’ friends at Poyner Elementary miss her. She and her cousin Lyric Cook were abducted and murdered last year.
“She was wild. She always had a really big smile. She wasn’t nervous or mad to do anything,” says friend Hannah Cary.
Collins would have been finishing the fourth grade this year.
“She was a fun and nice girl,” says friend Emma Larsen.
Students are working to encourage everyone not to forget their friend, so they began raising money to put a pink bench outside the school in her memory.
The students have collected $1,000 so far, which is plenty of money to buy a bench.
