PHARMACY ROBBERY: Suspect Arrested

Des Moines police say they have arrested a suspect in the April robbery of a pharmacy.

Police arrested 35-year-old Gary Lee Loomis Jr on Tuesday. He is charged with first degree robbery in connection with an incident at the Walgreens at 2930 E. University in Des Moines on April 15th.

Police say Loomis jumped over the pharmacy counter and threatened employees with a knife, demanding hydromorphone, a narcotic. He left the pharmacy after receiving the drug.

After releasing surveillance camera images of the incident Loomis was identified
and police issued a warrant for his arrest.
