The Sioux City man accused of shooting a police officer will be arraigned Friday morning.

Police say 21-year-old Jamal Dean fired several shots at Officer Kevin McCormick during a traffic stop in April. Officer McCormick survived the shooting and is back at work.

Dean was on the run for several days, but was finally arrested in Texas. Officials brought him back to Woodbury County last week.

He is charged with five counts including attempted murder, robbery, theft and burglary.

If convicted he could spend more than 80 years in prison.
