Governor Branstad is proposing an increase in salary for future elected officials.

Branstad sent his bill to the house and senate on Wednesday.

Under the proposal the Lieutenant Governor, State Auditor, Treasurer, and Secretaries of State and Agriculture would see an $8,300 raise. Governor Branstad would get the biggest bump in pay, nearly $12,000.

None of the raises would take effect until after the November 2014 elections.

Both the house and senate appear unlikely to support the proposal.
