Volunteers are helping two local veterans make overdue repairs to their homes.

For the next three days volunteers for the group Rebuild Together are working to build a wheelchair ramp, stabilize a shower, install kitchen cabinets, add insulation, clean up and paint two homes.

One of the veterans receiving the help is Robert Walker. He enlisted in the army in 1961 and served in Korea, Vietnam and Germany.

“I think it’s pretty nice, I didn’t know it until one day they showed up… Talked to me and said we can do this and that. I thought it was pretty nice,” Walker said.

Gabus Automotive Group paid for all the supplies and the work is all done for free.
