If you are still making plans for Memorial Day there are a couple of ceremonies you won’t want to miss.

The first will take place at the Gold Star Military Museum at Camp Dodge in Johnston. The museum is open from 5 a.m. until 2 p.m.

In addition to the Memorial Day ceremony, vintage and modern military equipment will be on display. There will also be a fly-over featuring antique aircraft.

Another ceremony is scheduled for Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium at 11 a.m. The event is intended to honor the Iowa soldiers who died in service to their country.

The Color Guard will be in attendance and Major General Tim Orr will deliver the key note address.

A number of services will be delayed including the metro waste authority.

All recycling, yard waste, and garbage pick-up will be delayed by one day all this coming week.

The Des Moines Regional Transit Authority won’t be in operation on Monday either. Metro bus services will resume on Tuesday.
