Thursday was the last day of school for Gilbert High School students. Next fall, they’ll have class in a new facility.

Student, parents, teachers and school employees used the day to pack everything up and move it to the new high school complex.

The Gilbert District passed a $28 million bond issue to build the facility. The money will also pay to remodel the old high school to transform it into a new third-to-fifth grade intermediate school.

Three-hundred students completed the job in two and a half hours.

Remodeling the old high school will begin Friday.
