Earlier this year, Iowa farmers intended to plant 14.2 million acres of corn, same as last year, and 9.4 million acres of soybeans, slightly higher than in 2012.

With the upcoming acreage report out June 28th, NASS enumerators will be contacting 5,000 producers in Iowa over the next two weeks. The information they collect is protected from both legal subpoena and freedom of information act requests, thanks to the 2002 Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act, and title seven of the U.S. code.
