CHILD ENDANGERMENT: Ottumwa Man Pleads Not Guilty

An Ottumwa man accused of injuring a toddler entered a not guilty plea Wednesday.

Nineteen-year-old Dustin Armstrong is charged with child endangerment and willful injury stemming from an April incident.

Police found a 2-year-old unresponsive after an apparent assault. The child was transported to the hospital with extensive injuries and will be moved to a rehab facility in Des Moines Thursday.

A preliminary hearing for Armstrong is scheduled for June 14.

He is in Wapello County Jail on $50,000 bond.
