CHASE ARREST: Colfax Man Charged With OWI

One man ended up in jail after a police chase near the Iowa Speedway this weekend.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office got two calls Saturday afternoon saying someone was driving drunk.

A deputy pulled the car over on Highway F 48 near the Skunk River Bridge. The driver pulled away as the deputy started to investigate.

The chase reached speeds of 90 miles an hour.

It finally ended at the intersection of Highway 117 and South 44th Avenue West.

Fourty-four-year-old Martin Shepley of Colfax was taken into custody and charged with eluding and operating while intoxicated, among other violations.
