Friends and family are holding a candle light vigil Monday night, for an 18- year-old shot to death by her father.

Friday night, police were called to an apartment on Southeast Delaware in Ankeny. When they arrived they found Emily Hazelbaker dead from a single gunshot wound.

Her father, 51-year-old Hazelbaker, was arrested for shooting her. He is charged with involuntary manslaughter and assault for intentionally pointing a weapon at her.

He told investigators he didn’t know the gun was loaded.

The candlelight vigil honoring Emily starts at 9:00 p.m. Monday at Haines Park in Altoona.
