About 500 people went searching for new opportunities Tuesday in downtown Des Moines.

The Des Moines Career Fair set up shop at the Iowa Events Center.

More than 30 employers were on hand in hopes of filling some open positions. Among them were DMACC, iWireless, Mediacom, Nationwide and Premiere.

Premiere is a technology company in Urbandale and Marshalltown. It was looking to fill sale positions.

“Obviously these people are eager, they’re out here being proactive looking for a position. So in our industry, we’re in technology industry as well as sales oriented and service oriented business, we want those high quality individuals that are proactive that are looking to do better for themselves and better for our company and our clients as well,” says Nick Barnes with Premiere.
