ROBBERY SUSPECT: Police Seek Public’s Help

Des Moines police have released an image of a man who robbed an east side convenience store Monday.

Police say the robbery happened a little after 5:30 p.m. when a white male approached an employee at the Valero store at 3733 Easton Boulevard. The suspect held a knife to the employee and demanded money. He fled from the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

suspect_1The robbery was caught on surveillance video and now police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect. They’ve released an image from the video, showing the suspect. He is described as a white male, five-foot-ten, and 170 pounds. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a checkered hat, white shirt with dark sleeves, and dark shorts.
