Five of the top 10 teams in the Class 4A baseball rankings belong to the CIML.

The Valley Tigers have 6 state titles, the most of any 4A team in the state but it’s been 7 years since the Tigers raised the championship trophy

Trying to change that this year, second ranked Tigers took on Urbandale in the first round of sub-state.

Valley advances after a 6-1 win.

Waukee took on Ames. The Warriors won 6-1.

Ankeny, East, Fort Dodge, Southeast Polk, Dowling, Ottumwa and Marshalltown also run-out winners in class 4A.

While Class 4A is dominated by the CIML, Class 3A has just one team from central Iowa ranked in the top 10 - Chariton.

The Chargers shut out Keokuk Friday night in the district semifinal 10-0.

In other semifinal action, Pella took on Norwalk. The Warriors won 4-2.

The winner of that game was set to take on Carlisle or Saydel. The Wildcats took that one 3-1 to move on.
