It was Christmas in July Wednesday morning in Runnells as cyclists passed through the town as they headed to Knoxville.

Runnells pulled out its holiday decor and even some mistletoe as RAGBRAI rolled through.

The Southeast Polk pep band also provided tunes from riders.

After leaving Des Moines and going through Runnells, riders went through Monroe before pitching their tents in Knoxville.

They were welcomed to Knoxville for yet another big celebration. One filled with plenty of music, good food and drinks to keep the riders going,

And they are appreciating the warm welcome.

"Excellent, every town, Knoxville’s been great, every town's been great, I’m not surprised but it's been awesome," says Mark Smirz from DeKalb, IL.

The theme for the town is "Knoxville is a dam good time” because the riders have to ride over the mile long bridge and cross the Red Rock Dam to get into town.

Bikes lined the town square as riders enjoyed music, food and drinks.

Organizers say they are keeping their RAGBRAI stop all local, with local food vendors, serving Knoxville’s own Peace Tree beer. All 14 bands performing through the day come from Iowa.
