A man is in intensive care after he was shot overnight in Des Moines.

Police say there were on another trip when they heard about nine shots fired in the area of 23rd and University around 12:30 a.m. Police began checking the scene then found the shooting victim at 22nd and Carpenter.

Paramedics took the victim, 21-year-old Roshan Tate-Jewett, to the hospital. Police say he was shot in the neck and the stomach.

Police say several people were on scene surrounding Tate-Jewett but no one admitted to seeing anything.

Tate-Jewett is in the ICU, but police say his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Police do not have a suspect in the case.
