An Iowa man has pleaded not guilty in the 1994 death of a toddler.

Thirty-seven-year-old Michael Cisneros, formerly of Mason City, made the plea in a written arraignment last week. Cisneros is accused of killing 20-month-old John Snyder Jr.

The child’s father reported him missing in July of 1994. The boy’s body was found a day later, snagged on a tree in nearby Willow Creek.

Investigators say they matched Cisneros’ DNA to a sample taken from the toddler’s pajama bottoms.
