A Grimes teen reported missing earlier this month has been located safely in eastern Iowa.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the Independence Police Department contacted them around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday and let them know that 17-year-old Julie Roach-Lindeman had been located and was safe.

Officials say Roach-Lindeman has now returned home.

Details about where she has been since she was reported missing have not been released.

Officials say Roach-Lindeman ran away from her mother’s Grimes home on August 2nd.
