A Des Moines man is dead following an early morning stabbing during a domestic argument.

Police say they were called to an apartment at 1908 7th Street at 2:40 a.m. Thursday on a stabbing. When they arrived they found 34-year-old Amyn DeWayne Brown dead.

Police have a person of interest in the case in custody. They say 25-year-old Tyshar Keamber Mosley lived with Brown, who was her boyfriend, in the apartment where the stabbing took place. She is being questioned.

We captured video of Mosley while she was in the back of a Des Moines police car. She was visibly upset and screaming, “I was just trying to protect my kids!”

Police confirm there were two kids in the apartment at the time of the stabbing.

Des Moines police say their investigation is continuing and the case will be sent to the Polk County Attorney’s Office to determine whether charges will be filed in the case.
