A second skull has been found near the Skunk River. This one was discovered in Jasper County on Sunday.

A family visiting the area found it and contacted police.

It was taken to the state medical examiner’s office for testing.

Authorities say it is similar to the one found last month near the Skunk River in Ames.

Experts say that skull is from a female of American-Indian ancestry and is at least 200 years old.
