A special traffic enforcement project begins Monday in Iowa and runs through September 8th.

State law enforcement officials are increasing their presence on the roads with the goal of curbing drunk driving.

The increased patrol coincides with the Labor Day holiday weekend. The crack-down is part of a national campaign called Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

Iowa ranks second as having the lowest number of alcohol related fatalities in the nation.
