AT LARGE: Suspect Sought In Des Moines Robbery

Des Moines police are asking for the public’s help to find a man they say helped rob a woman, leaving her with fractures to her face.

Police are looking for 18-year-old Tanner Harvey. They say he and 23-year-old Shawnee Smith robbed a 65-year-old woman in the parking lot at the Walgreens on 3140 SE 14th Street on August 20th. The two took the woman’s purse.

During the robbery the woman suffered broken facial bones that required hospitalization.

Smith was arrested and charged with first degree robbery on August 24th. She has since bonded out of the Polk County Jail.

Police are still looking for Harvey. There is an active warrant for first degree burglary in the case.
