Calling his work as Gov. Terry Branstad’s chief of staff the honor of his life, Jeff Boeyink announced he is leaving the position.

Boeyink served as Gov. Branstad’s campaign manager then as co-chair of the transition team following the governor’s successful re-election.

Boeyink is leaving for a position in the private sector and said he’d focus his efforts on the governor’s re-election.

Boyink says he is looking forward to his first vacation since 2008. His last day is next Friday.
