It took volunteers four days to pack more than five million meals.

Meals from the Heartland wrapped up its annual Hunger Fight in the metro.  It took an army of nearly 15,000 volunteers but at 4 p.m. on Saturday they reached their goal.

People have been working around the clock since Wednesday at Hy-Vee Hall.

The bags of rice, soy, dried vegetables and vitamins will be shipped around the world.

Some of the newly-packaged meals will go to feed the hungry right here in Iowa.
