HAWKEYE STUNNER: Hawkeyes lose to N. Illinois

The Iowa Hawkeyes lost a stunning season opener on Saturday 30-27 to Northern Illinois.

The Hawks led 24-17 at the half, but only managed 3 points in the entire 2nd half.  Jake Rudock threw for 256 yards in his Iowa debut, but the Sophomore also threw a costly interception with just over a minute to play that gave NIU the ball and field goal opportunity.

Matt Sims kicked a game winning 33 yard field goal with 4 seconds left to give the Huskies the upset win.

Iowa has now lost 7 straight games dating back to last year.
