Much needed morning rain fell Sunday morning. Rainfall amounts ranged from .17" in Des Moines to .52" in Carroll.  There were some very strong winds that brought down mainly tree branches and debris, with a few larger trees around Central Iowa.

Temperatures will hold in the 80s in Des Moines for the rest of the week with mainly sunny skies. On Labor Day highs in Northern Iowa will actually be in the upper 70s!

The forecast for the rest of the week looks dry, with only a slight chance of showers or storms late Wednesday into Thursday, though most of the rain will likely stay west of Central Iowa.
