The latest testing shows Des Moines students are making improvements in reading and math.

Every grade level improved with grade 11 seeing the biggest increase at 4.5-percent. Grades three through five increased 2.4-percent while sixth through eighth graders improved by just over one-percent.

Math scores also improved in all grade levels.

However, some students with disabilities, Asian students, Hispanic students and African-American students struggled in math.

The data was presented to the school board during Tuesday night’s meeting.
