The World Food and Music Festival doesn’t start until Friday but Des Moines’ East Village is already getting ready to serve guests.

More than 40 vendors are setting up for the big event that runs from Friday until Sunday.

As set up continues for the festivities, roads in the area are being closed. Parts of East Locust Street and East Fifth Street were shut down Wednesday.

By Friday, Locust between East 4th and East 6th and portions of 4th and 5th streets will all be closed. The road will remain closed until Monday morning.
