The Vet Tech Club at DMACC is holding its semi-annual Dog Wash this Saturday.

For $13, you can have the club give your pup a bath and either a blow-out or have your dog towel-dried, whichever you and your pooch prefer.

Vet Tech student Elisabeth Flores said the club is hoping to raise enough money to buy a bulletproof vest for the new Des Moines police dog. The club typically donates the money raised from fundraisers to the local animal shelters it works with throughout the year, Flores added.

Homeagain microchips will also be available for purchase for dogs, cats and other small pets.   Cats and other pets must be kept in carriers and dogs must be on leashes.

The dog wash fundraiser will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind the FFA Enrichment Center at DMACC.

More information on the fundraiser and where to get your dog wash is available on the school’s website.
