As of 5 p.m. MidAmerican Energy totaled 2500 homes and businesses that were still without power.

While that number slowly comes down authorities say some might go the entire weekend without electricity.

Crews were out across the metro working to retain the power.

“Just one limb is all it took - took out this whole neighborhood,” explained resident, Nick Wauson.

Wright Tree Solutions predicts its crews will be working around the clock until Sunday to pick up every last branch.

“It is a lot of work for five crews, we could probably use 10 today if we had the man power to do it.”

MidAmerican Energy called in crews from nearby states to help restore the outages which totaled close to 40,000 at the storm’s height.

That number is steadily going down but authorities have asked for patience as they restore power to everybody.
