Police in Eastern Iowa said an out of control man is recovering after an officer shot him.

It started around 7 a.m. when an employee at the Advance Auto Parts store in Cedar Rapids saw a man kicking a vehicle in the parking lot.  When the employee approached him, the man then turned his attention to the employee.

The employee ran to the store and locked the door but the man eventually got in and fired shots.  Police fired back at the man and eventually hit him.

No officers were injured but the store employee received minor injuries.

Police have not released the man’s name.
