Des Moines police say a mother and son duo are responsible for robbing the same pharmacy twice.

Monday’s robbery happened just before 10:00 a.m. at the Medicap Pharmacy at 5802 Franklin. Police say a suspect passed a note to the clerk demanding OxyContin, a narcotic. The suspect took five to six bottles and then left on foot.

Police then say a witness saw the suspect get in an SUV and took down the license plate number. Police stopped the car in the 1600 block of Euclid and took 21-year-old Caleb Ryun and 42-year-old Tammy Wright in for questioning. Now the pair has been charged in connection with Monday’s robbery as well as a similar robbery at the same location on July 17th.

Ryun and Wright each face two charges of second degree robbery. Ryun is also charged with possession with intent to deliver a schedule II drug.
