Iowa health leaders hope you start thinking about getting your flu shot soon.

The Polk County Health Department started holding its flu clinics Wednesday.

It will be holding nearly 50 flu vaccination clinics from now through November. Wednesday’s clinic was held at DMACC in Ankeny.

Thursday’s flu clinic is being held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at East High School.

A drive thru clinic at 1907 Carpenter is scheduled for October 5th.

Most insurance companies cover the cost of flu vaccines but those without insurance will pay $20, however no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
