This is the tenth year Des Moines has hosted Oktoberfest. Organizers say it`s likely their best year yet, with an estimated 12,000 people enjoying the festivities. They say this event is popular, because there is something for everyone.

Event organizer Mindy Toyne says, “We have people that are in their 20s and we have people that are in their 90s, and they`re all out polka dancing together. There aren`t very many events that bring such a wide group of people together. And it`s just a good time you know. It kind of commences fall, and people are in a good mood.”
