In June, the Des Moines Register packed up and move from its longtime headquarters.

But it didn't go very far.

The newspaper moved its operations from Locust Street down a few blocks to Capitol Square.

While the workers and all the operations already moved out, the globe that had sat in the lobby since 1950 remained in place.

That is until today.
