A Panora couple is sleeping in a newly remodeled home Thursday night thanks to some help from two national TV shows.

Sam and Cassie Wendl wrote to HGTV's Cousins Under Cover to ask for help fixing a leaky roof that spread mold through their home.

This week they appeared with the cousins on Ellen shown on Channel 13 and learned the work was already underway.

Sam, Cassie and crews from HGTV and The Ellen DeGeneres Show all returned to Panora where a crowd was waiting to greet them outside.

The inside of the home is being kept under wraps before Friday’s big reveal on Ellen but the family say they’re happy with the results.

“It’s been like a dream experience, we’re kind of out-of-body but in a really cool way," explained Cassie.

The family will talk more on their dream renovation following Ellen on the News at Five on Friday.
