ROAD RANKING: Des Moines 12th Worst Nationally

A national research group says Des Moines has some of the worst roads in the nation.

The group TRIP says 38-percent of Des Moines roads are in poor condition.

That figure makes Iowa’s capital the 12th worst city in the nation.

The study estimates it costs local drivers $600 each year in additional vehicle operating costs.

Antioch, CA was at the bottom of the rankings with 64-percent of its roads in poor condition.

Davenport was 15th on the list.
