A man is accused of drugging, beating and sexually abusing a teenage boy.

According to the Des Moines Register, police arrested 54-year-old Kenneth Turner Sunday in Bloomfield.

The police chief says Turner let the teen move into his home last week.  Reports say the troubled teen needed a place to stay after problems with his legal guardians.

Turner is accused of inappropriately touching the teen and locking him in a basement bathroom.

The boy managed to escape.

Turner is charged with seven counts of 3rd degree sex abuse, assault and administering a harmful substance.

Turner is out on bond.
