RHOADS RANT: Coach’s Comments Earn Wrist Slap

Following Iowa State’s one-point loss to Texas, Coach Paul Rhoads came into the post-game press conference and ripped on the Big 12 officiating.

The Big 12’s response was one big slap on the wrist.

Coach Rhoads violated conference rules that prohibit coaches from making public comments about game officials.  Although more severe action was possible, he is being issued a public reprimand, said Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby.

The same reprimand went for Mike Davis; the Longhorn receiver got a wag of the finger from the Big 12.  Davis will not be suspended for his low hit on Deon Broomfield.
