The farm bill has been stuck in limbo, but the next and final step before a House-Senate farm bill conference, naming House conferees, could occur as early as today.

The American Soybean Association cites multiple sources in its anticipation of the conferees, a group that it says includes House Ag Committee Chair Frank Lucas of Oklahoma and Steve King of Iowa, as well as Kristi Noem of South Dakota. Also according to ASA, House Ag Ranking Member Collin Peterson says the Democrat contingent will be comprised exclusively of House Ag Committee members.

The Senate conferees include Senate Ag Chair Debbie Stabenow of Michigan and Iowa Senator Tom Harkin.
