For the first time in four years, AHL hockey is alive in Des Moines.

After failed attempts by the Iowa Stars and Chops, so far all signs point toward a successful marriage with the Wild.

Saturday night, the team played the first game of the season against Oklahoma City.  More than 10,000 people attended the opening game, the largest hockey crowd ever for an opener in Des Moines.

The Wild wins the game 1-0 over the Barons.
