ADOPTION CENTER: Cats Missing, Children Hospitalized From Fire

A morning fire left three children in the hospital and nearly one dozen cats missing.

The fire started one the second floor of an apartment and cat adoption center in Anamosa around 5 a.m. Sunday morning.

Paramedics took four people to the hospital, including the three children.  Two people were later airlifted to Iowa City but everyone is expected to survive.

None of the animals at the shelter were hurt but volunteers are still searching for the missing cats.

One dog in the apartment died in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
